President-elect Donald Trump is expected to name Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers as his Interior Department secretary, according to multiple news reports Friday.

Ms. McMorris Rodgers chairs the House Republican conference and is the No. 4 ranking Republican in the U.S. House. Hydropower and land use issues are important to Ms. McMorris Rogers’ home state of Washington, and she sits on the Energy and Commerce committee.

First elected in 2004, Ms. McMorris Rodgers won re-election to represent the state’s eastern 5th congressional district this year with about 60 percent of the vote.
