CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - A former New Hampshire woman has pleaded guilty to participating in a scheme to use stolen personal ID information to file false federal income tax returns and steal hundreds of thousands of dollars from the U.S. Treasury.

Gladys Maria Pena Dominguez, formerly of Nashua, pleaded guilty this week to theft and conspiracy charges.

Court documents say the 34-year-old Dominguez brought at least 130 tax refund checks from New York to a co-conspirator in New Hampshire, who gave Pena cash in return. Pena knew the checks were obtained from the Internal Revenue Service by others. The checks were based upon false tax returns that were sent using the names and Social Security numbers of real people without their consent or knowledge. The government alleges the value of the checks exceeds $1.1 million.

Pena is scheduled to be sentenced on March 16, 2017.
