GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) - Police are investigating after a pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle along the Black Horse Pike in Camden County.

The accident occurred just before 6 p.m. Tuesday in Gloucester Township. Officers found the victim lying in the middle of the highway, suffering from extensive injuries and cardiac arrest.

The man was rushed to Kennedy University Hospital in Washington Township, where he was pronounced dead. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of family.



Police say the driver remained at the scene and was cooperating with investigators. It’s unclear if he will face criminal charges in connection with the incident.

Black Horse Pike remained closed late Tuesday night while the accident scene was processed by Gloucester Township police’s Serious Crash Investigation Team.
