OPINION:
Elected Democrats are criticizing President-elect Trump’s Cabinet nominees for their supposed lack of experience (“Donald Trump picks Ben Carson, former campaign rival, as housing secretary,” Web, Dec. 5). Sen. Jeff Merkley, Oregon Democrat, complains that Dr. Ben Carson, nominee for secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development, “has no professional experience in either government or housing policy.” And Minority Whip Steny Hoyer of Maryland whines that Rep. Tom Price, Georgia Republican (and trained physician), is unqualified to lead the Department of Health and Human Services because “this position has historically been reserved for an individual with significant administrative experience.”
Would these Democrats please tell us what “significant administrative experience” Barack Obama possessed that qualified him to become president?
Little wonder that Democrats prefer late-night comedy shows to air their views.
