OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The incoming leader of the Oklahoma state Senate has named members of his staff.
Senate President Pro Tem-designate Mike Schulz named Ashley Kehl as chief of staff to replace Jonathan Nichols, who resigned to become vice president of governmental relations for the University of Oklahoma.
Kehl was a consultant for a political consulting firm.
Pam Nordstrom continues as executive assistant, Kathryn Taylor is senior policy adviser, Aaron Cooper is communications director and John Willbanks was named director of appointments.
Schulz is Republican from Altus who was elected pro tem-designate by Republicans in the Senate. The Senate will organize in January and the pro tem will be officially elected then by the entire Senate and rules for the 201 session will be passed.
The Senate includes 42 Republicans and six Democrats.
