VERNON, N.Y. (AP) - The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office says a 23-year-old Utica resident has died and two people were hurt after a two-car crash on a snowy central New York road.

Deputies say the crash happened around 2 a.m. Friday on Route 5 in Vernon when a 2006 Honda Accord driven by 18-year-old You En of Utica slid across the snow-covered highway. It collided with a Honda Civic driven by 52-year-old Richard Reuter of Utica.

En and a rear-seat passenger were taken to a hospital for evaluation. Deputies say 23-year-old Eh Doh Moo, a front-seat passenger, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Reuter was treated at the scene.
