SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. (AP) - The city of Sierra Vista now has a second police dog on the force.

Izzy, a six-year-old German Shepherd, graduated from a nine-week K-9 academy on Wednesday, along with her owner, Officer Annalise Roselli.

Roselli is the Sierra Police Department’s first female canine officer.

Police dogs are trained to sniff drugs, search for missing people and help stop suspects on the run. They’re often very expensive and go through rigorous training before they can join the force.
