PIEDMONT, Mo. (AP) - The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating after a small airplane crashed in southeast Missouri.

The crash happened Tuesday evening near Piedmont. KFVS-TV (https://bit.ly/2hNsLOb ) reports that the Piper PA-18 went down after clipping a power line and slid into a creek.

Piedmont Police Chief Richard Sanders says the plane may have lost power. The pilot was not injured.



The crash caused a power outage in the Piedmont area. Power was restored around 3 a.m. Wednesday.
