CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - Natrona County Republicans plan to hold interviews on Saturday for candidates seeking to replace Rep. Kendell Kroeker of Evansville.

Kroeker announced his resignation last week saying unforeseen circumstances related to his business would prevent him from being able to take the time off for the 2017 legislative session, which begins Jan. 10 in Cheyenne. He owns Casper Mountain Motorsports.

Interested candidates must submit their names to county party chairwoman Bonnie Foster by 5 p.m. Friday. Foster says precinct committee members from House District 35 will interview the candidates on Saturday morning and select three finalists.

The Casper Star Tribune reports (bit.ly/2iBvpGX) the Natrona County Commission will choose a replacement on Jan. 3.

Kroeker had served in the Legislature for six years and was re-elected in November.
