OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The average price for a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Oklahoma is up by eight cents to $2.09 per gallon this week.

AAA Oklahoma reported Tuesday that the price is at a four-month high, but spokesman Chuck Mai said the price is expected to drop sharply after the first of the year brings an end to holiday travel.

Prices in selected cities in the state range from $2.05 per gallon in Enid, Idabel and Shawnee to $2.15 in Stillwater. Motorists in both Tulsa and Oklahoma City are paying an average of $2.08 per gallon.

The national average price is $2.29 per gallon and the price in Oklahoma is the eighth lowest in the country.
