NEW YORK (AP) - Police say an 11-year-old girl has been struck and killed by a car as she tried to cross a street in the Bronx.
The accident happened at about 11:45 a.m. Tuesday.
Police say the girl was hit by a Toyota Camry as she was crossing East 180th Street.
She was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Her name was not immediately released.
The driver remained at the scene and has not been arrested.
