ESMONT, Va. (AP) - Albemarle County police say a man was killed in a crash after he hit a deer.
Police said in a statement released Monday that the crash happened Sunday night on Irish Road in the Esmont area.
Police say 56-year-old David Gorman of Schuyler struck a deer, lost control of the truck he was driving and hit a tree. Police say Gorman was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the only person in the car. Police say the crash remains under investigation.
This is the seventh fatal crash the county police department’s traffic unit has investigated this year.
