ST. JOHNSBURY, Vt. (AP) - A wind power developer says he’s begun the process of getting permits to erect two industrial wind turbines on property he own in Irasburg and Lowell.
On Friday, David Blittersdorf’s Kidder Hill Community Wind filed a 45-day notice with Vermont utility regulators about plans to file an application to build two turbines of about 2.2 megawatts each.
The Caledonian Record (https://bit.ly/2hBP2yp ) reports the project could be located in either Lowell or the adjacent town or Irasburg or have one turbine in each town.
Irasburg officials have opposed Blittersdorf’s proposal. In Lowell, already home to a 21-turbine array, officials welcomed the possibility the community could host more turbines.
Blittersdorf also built and operates the four-turbine Georgia Mountain Community Wind, with two turbines each in Milton and Georgia.
