FREDERICK, Md. (AP) - A prosecutor says a 17-year-old Maryland boy brought a loaded handgun to school and threatened on Twitter to shoot the principal.
Prosecutor Brett Jackson says the tweet also threatened students at Oakdale High School near New Market.
The Frederick News-Post (https://bit.ly/2i1U7Dq ) reports that a judge ordered the youth held without bail Thursday.
He was arrested at school Wednesday after students told a teacher about videos showing him with a handgun. Police say two Snapchat videos showed the youth waving the gun in a school hallway, and then hiding it in his jacket.
The youth is charged as an adult with four offenses, including reckless endangerment and possessing a dangerous weapon on school property.
Assistant Public Defender John Maclean is seeking to have the case moved to juvenile court.
