CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - An 18-year-old Charlotte man has been arrested after a body was found near an elementary school in Charlotte.
Police spokesman Keith Trietley said in a news release that the body was found Dec. 14 near Idlewild Elementary School in southeast Charlotte.
Police said they have charged Isaiah Green with murder in the shooting death of 19-year-old Israel Jacob Williams.
A student walking near the school found Williams’ body near the fence line of the school. Shots had been reported in the area on the night of Dec. 13.
Police say Green was arrested early Wednesday. It was not clear if he has an attorney. Police have not released a possible motive.
