CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - The state of New Hampshire is partnering with a utility and renewable energy firm on energy efficiency upgrades at its state office complex in Concord.

The state, which worked with Unitil and ConEdison Solutions, plans to save about $950,000 annually and lower emissions equivalent to taking more than 1,000 cards off the road each year.

The project includes more than 60 energy efficiency and infrastructure upgrade projects, including a new biomass boiler system and chip storage building. Also included are high-efficiency lighting, controls, fans, transformer upgrades and water conservation measures. Officials say the project will be paid for by the guaranteed savings over the next 18 years.
