MOREHEAD, Ky. (AP) - Police say they are investigating a crash in eastern Kentucky that killed a Commercial Vehicle Enforcement inspector.
Kentucky State Police said in a statement that 51-year-old Benita Blanton died in the crash Wednesday morning when she lost control of her vehicle while traveling east on Interstate 64 near Morehead. Police say Blanton’s 2010 Ford Crown Victoria left the roadway and struck an earthen embankment.
The statement says she was wearing a seat belt.
Authorities said Blanton was initially hired as a dispatcher in 2012 and transferred to vehicle enforcement in 2015.
