MCDONALD, Pa. (AP) - A western Pennsylvania school is telling students to leave their backpacks at home as security is increased in the wake of an unspecified threat.

Officials at Fort Cherry Junior-Senior High School in McDonald aren’t releasing information about the threat.

But they say students can expect to have their lunch containers and purses searched on Monday, too.

It’s not clear whether local and state police have identified the source of the threat, which school officials have called “concerning.”
