CHEBOYGAN, Mich. (AP) - Authorities are asking motorists to avoid all unnecessary traffic on Interstate 75 northern Michigan through Saturday.

MLive reports (https://bit.ly/2hHCy8P ) the Michigan Emergency Management Agency in Cheboygan County says whiteout conditions have led to multiple crashes on the stretch of interstate running through Cheboygan County. That’s the northernmost county in the Lower Peninsula that I-75 travels through.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for the region. It says 9-13 inches of snow are forecast to fall through Saturday night and that travel will be very difficult to impossible.
