A misshapen and much-maligned statue of Lucille Ball is finally being replaced on Saturday in the late comedian’s hometown of Celoron, N.Y., and People magazine snagged a sneak peek at its replacement.

“The new statue, created by sculptor Carolyn Palmer to replace the original work of art, is much more lifelike and features Ball in a polka dot dress,” People explained. The late actress is shown standing “on a copy of her Hollywood star, and has a purse on her wrist and a string of pearls around her neck.”

Ms. Palmer was reportedly the unanimous choice of a national competition for the honor. Among other commissioned work, she has sculpted busts of Presidents Thomas Jefferson and Franklin Roosevelt, First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt and Pope Francis, according to her website.
