CNN anchor Anderson Cooper and Fox News host Megyn Kelly are voters’ top choices to moderate the upcoming presidential debates, according to a poll released Monday.
Mr. Cooper was the top choice for 34 percent of registered voters, followed by Ms. Kelly at 25 percent and Fox News anchor Chris Wallace at 22 percent, according to the Morning Consult poll.
Bob Schieffer, who retired last year as host of CBS’s “Face the Nation,” was next at 17 percent, followed by CNN’s Wolf Blitzer at 16 percent.
Mr. Cooper was the top choice among supporters of Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, while Mr. Wallace led among supporters of GOP nominee Donald Trump.
Mr. Cooper interviewed both Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Trump last week. Mr. Trump and Ms. Kelly were engaged in a high-profile spat after the first GOP presidential debate last August, though Ms. Kelly interviewed Mr. Trump in a prime-time special that aired on Fox in May.
The first presidential debate is scheduled for Sept. 26 at Hofstra University in New York.
