A man from Ireland has entered the Guinness World Records for creating a functional Batman suit straight out of the Caped Crusader’s video game.

Julian Checkley, a special effects expert from Galway, Ireland, will appear in “The Guinness World Records 2017: Gamer’s Edition” for creating a one-of-a-kind costume. His Batman suit has 23 functional gadgets, including everything from the classic “Grapnel Gun” to a “Fireball Shooter.”

“I mention the ’Fireball Shooter,’” Mr. Checkley said in a YouTube video uploaded by Guinness World Records on Wednesday. “You can’t beat that. Pop a few of those off and you see people’s jaws drop. It’s great.”

Mr. Checkley told the organization that a lot of the tools are inspired by the “Batman: Arkham Origins” video game.

“There are these classic Batman gadgets that you see in a lot of the Batman universe,” Mr. Checkley said. “The way we’ve designed them and made them is very specific to Arkham Origins. My favorite gadgets would have to be — I love the gas dispenser. You flip your wrist out and it just jets out this jet of CO2 gas, which could be poisonous gas. It could be anything.”

Stephen Daultrey, Editor of the “Guinness World Records 2017: Gamer’s Edition” was also floored by the costume’s design.

“The detail and imagination behind the gadgets take the meaning of cosplay to a whole new level,” Mr. Daultrey said Wednesday on the organization’s website.
