1| Trump Campaign Hires Ex-Palin Aide to Rally Christian Voters |Wall Street Journal

Donald Trump’s campaign told social conservative allies Wednesday that it had hired former Sarah Palin aide Pam Pryor to lead its “faith and Christian outreach.”
In the email Wednesday morning, Trump aide Alan Cobb wrote that Ms. Pryor “will be leading our Trump for President Religious outreach.”


“She will be focused on faith and Christian outreach for the campaign and will report directly to me,” Mr. Cobb wrote. “I will still stay involved, but Pam will be able to produce more work and communications that we can get to our faith board and to the community at large; more social media activity, more events etc.”

2| Missionary group Completes Scripture Recording in 1,000th Language

Faith Comes By Hearing, a ministry that records audio versions of the Bible in the languages of the world, has reached a milestone – Scripture recorded in 1,000 languages.
The recording consists of the New Testament and the Psalms in Nkonya, a language spoken in the Upper Volta region of Ghana by a people group of 28,000. The recording has already been made available on solar-powered listening devices called Proclaimers.

The language is not taught in schools, but the Nkonya still speak it. Like most people who haven’t been reached with the Gospel message, the Nkonya are oral learners.   …

 

3| Lesbian sues Catholic school over firing |AP

A woman is suing a Roman Catholic school in New Jersey, alleging the school violated the state’s discrimination law when she was fired because she’s married to a woman.

But Christopher Westrick, an attorney for Paramus Catholic High School, its president, James Vail, and the Archdiocese of Newark, on Friday planned to ask a judge to dismiss Kate Drumgoole’s suit. In court papers, the lawyer argues Ms. Drumgoole was not dismissed because of her sexual orientation.

Mr. Westrick said his clients didn’t violate the state’s anti-discrimination law because it allows churches to require their workers to abide by the tenets of the Catholic faith.

“Instead, she was terminated for violating the Ministerial Policies and the Code of Ethics - in failing to abide by the tenets of the Roman Catholic faith, i.e. by entering into a same sex marriage,” Westrick states.

He also said his clients’ actions are also protected under the First Amendment, which ensures the free exercise of religion.  …
