For a little under $40,000, you might well become the proud owner of the 1979 station wagon featured in the 1983 National Lampoon’s “Vacation” movie starring Chevy Chase.

Or you just might get an well-kept 37-year-old station wagon that still has an odometer reading in the 5 digits.

“Although this particular car is believed to be used in the filming of the movie, there is no documentation that comes with the car,” car-classifieds site Hemmings.com said in an ad for the vehicle.

“Complete with vintage luggage for the roof, a dog leash and a Walley World bumper sticker on the bumper, this car is a very good example of the Family Truckster,” the ad noted. “The paint is in average shape, there are multiple dings, dents and blemishes and this car has been so distastefully done, you will simply love it and turn heads every where you go!”

Sounds perfect for one last road trip before the kids go back to school!

Just be sure to check the Walley World website before you leave. You wouldn’t want to get there only to find it was closed for renovation.
