An anarchist group has found a new way to attack Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump: nude “emperor” statues.
Cleveland, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco and Seattle are the first recipients of INDECLINE’s “The Emperor Has No B—-s” campaign activism. The statues arrive just months after an anti-Trump “Rape” mural was created along the U.S.-Mexico border.
The group’s YouTube page also features videos such as “The Riot Stick” — a $29 product used for destroying police vehicle windows — and “#BlackLivesMatter: Hollywood,” which shows stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame being defaced with the names of black men killed by police officers.
“Like it or not, Trump is a larger-than-life figure in world culture at the moment,” a spokesman told The Washington Post Thursday on condition of anonymity. “Looking back in history, that’s how those figures were memorialized and idolized in their time — with statues.”
The group commissioned a Las Vegas-based artist with Hollywood horror-film experience for the project.
“When the guys approached me, it was all because of my monster-making abilities. Trump is just yet another monster, so it was absolutely in my wheelhouse to be able to create these monstrosities,” the artist, who only goes by Ginger, told the newspaper.
The artist said it took 300 pounds of clay and 25 hours per week in labor since April to complete the “Emperor.” Each statue weighs 80 pounds.
“I don’t expect these things to last more than 30 or 45 minutes [before being destroyed or removed],” an INDECLINE member told The Post. “But I would love to watch some irate 65-year-old Trump supporter try to take the thing down with his bare hands.”
