OPINION:
Why would anyone ever again vote for a Democrat? We have hundreds of thousands of people looking for work and hundreds of thousands more who have given up looking. We have millions of people who are under-employed; the man who bags my groceries has a college degree.
The Democrats’ liberal base has been using so-called climate change to shut down entire industries. These people will not accept that the Earth’s climate has gone through extreme cycles before in its lifetime — without the help of humans. Nevertheless they have thrown away hundreds of billions of dollars on “green” businesses, some of which have quickly failed, taking our tax money with them.
The political left has decimated our military while using part of the defense budget to buy equipment the services do not want and can’t use. They refuse to acknowledge the enemy at our gates, but they preach that responsible Americans should give up their guns. Perhaps their bodyguards will lead the way and turn in their weapons first.
While she was secretary of state Hillary Rodham Clinton told potential responders to the Benghazi embassy attacks to stand down, which probably cost the lives of four very fine young men. Then she lied to the American people and the families of the dead about the reason for the attack, while telling officials a different story.
Our enemies almost certainly have many of our secrets thanks to Mrs.Clinton’s selfish and sloppy use of e-mail. Both she and her husband Bill belong behind bars. However, the Democrats worked to put the latter in the White House and now want to send the former there, too.
In November a third of our senators and all of our Congress members will be up for re-election. As before, they will have agreed with the voters that government reform is needed, and once again they will promise to work to bring about this reform.
Those Washington old-timers of both houses should be turned out in favor of new blood. Career politicians who turn their backs on the citizens except when our votes are needed, who are only interested in securing their own power and influence, must finally be discarded.
