BREMERTON, Wash. (AP) — A 10-foot long python bit a Washington state museum employee who was trying to feed it, and remained latched on until firefighters arrived to pry it off.
KING-TV reported that Bremerton Bug Museum owner Randi Jones says the woman hadn’t been properly trained to handle the Burmese python named Stella.
She took the snake into a back room on Monday where it became aggressive after smelling thawed rodents. The snake then struck the woman’s leg.
Lt. Glenn Pappuleas with South Kitsap Fire and Rescue said the snake eventually lifted its head, and firefighters were able to grab ahold of it.
The woman is expected to return to work Tuesday.
