“Walking Dead” alumna Emily Kenney (RIP, Beth) has a new album on tap that is far less zombie and far more experimental pop. Pay particular attention to “Birthday Cake” and “Berkeley’s Breathing” for something both a little different and mellow. “Michael” brings a smile to the face over its titular lost fellow. “Crash and Burn,” though a tad simplistic, has a saccharine pleasure to it, while “Weapons” bids the disc a well-done adieu.

The album debuts Friday.
