OPINION:
Liberty. Federalism. State sovereignty. Eliminatation of unnecessary federal departments and programs to balance the budget and bring the federal government back into scale. Personal responsibility. Supreme Court activism.
Ever hear Donald Trump use any of these terms or phrases in his speeches? His campaign ads? His interviews? The answer is no. There is a very good explanation for this: He’s not a conservative or a Republican and he’s certainly not a constitutionalist. Does that mean he’s a Democrat or a liberal or a progressive? No, he’s none of those, either. Donald Trump is a corporatist, meaning he will use the federal government and his political contacts to obtain every possible advantage to make money — by any means.
So if you’re looking for Donald Trump to be your savior, you’d do well to think again. “The Donald” is not The Lord.
