Put yourself in the shoes of the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Your longtime ally, the United States of America, has just signed a deal with Iran which will allow them to acquire nuclear weapons. Iran recently reconfirmed a decades-long goal of the destruction of Israel. The deal also will provide the real Islamic State, the Shia theocracy of Iran, with billions of dollars to buy sophisticated Russian weapons, which the Kremlin is only too happy to sell them. These weapons could make the task of attacking Iranian nuclear facilities by the Israeli air force (IDF) almost impossible. The Obama administration has made it very clear that it will not support military force against Iran.

In addition, the power vacuum created by the Obama administration has led to the establishment of a Sunni, murderous caliphate in parts of Syria and northern Iraq. In the portion of Syria still controlled by the Assad regime, a longtime Russia ally, the Russian military has landed full force and is actively flying ground attack sorties north of Israel. The IDF has been forced to coordinate with Russia to prevent an accidental conflict and to ascertain the Russian agenda in the Levant.

To pour gasoline on the fire, Iran, whose government still calls for the destruction of the Jewish state, is sending thousands more Hezbollah fighters into the region to support Bashar Assad and coordinating with Russia. Hezbollah is Iran’s terrorist proxy army who also call for the destruction of Israel. Russia, Iraq, and Syria just set up a coordination center in Iraq.

The chess board doesn’t look like it’s in Israel’s favor does it?

Now let’s look a little more closer to Israel, the Palestinian territories to be specific. Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas has just stated in front of the United Nations that the Palestinians no longer feel obliged to follow the Oslo Peace Accords of 1995.

This statement is nothing more than a target of opportunity for Israel’s enemies. When the cat’s away the mice will play, as the saying goes. And President Obama has made it clear America has abdicated any leadership in the Middle East, Israel included. With the Jewish state backed into a corner, Israel’s enemies see an opportunity to further their agenda, settle old scores and put more pressure on Israel’s very survival.

This is why you have seen violence flare up in Jerusalem and across Israel —  children being knifed and so on. It’s not going to stop. It’s only going to get worse.

They have 16 months to make as much hay as possible while the sun is shining.
