A box truck flipped on its side on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge in Maryland in a two-vehicle accident Friday morning, blocking the eastbound lanes, Maryland Transportation Authority officials said.

No injuries were reported, but heavy-duty tow trucks were called to the scene. By 10 a.m., the box truck was upright and no longer leaning on the barrier, but eastbound delays still stretched as far back as Exit 29 (Cape St. Claire Road) in Annapolis.

By 11:30 a.m., the truck was removed and the bridge was inspected. Although the eastbound span is now available, the westbound span of the bridge will continue to conduct two-way traffic until the backup eases. Motorists should expect delays.
