TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Authorities say an American Airlines plane bound for Philadelphia made an emergency landing a short time after taking off from Tampa International Airport.

Tampa Fire Rescue spokesman Jason Penny told the Tampa Bay Times  that Flight 782 landed safely at the airport at 6:52 a.m. Wednesday. He says the plane reported a mechanical issue, and fire trucks were sent to the tarmac as a precaution.

No injuries were reported.

Airport spokeswoman Christine Osborn says no other flights were disrupted by the emergency landing.

Officials say the passengers are being put on other flights.
