JACKSONVILLE, N.C. — A North Carolina dentist is giving kids a chance to turn a profit on their Halloween candy and do their teeth a favor.

The Daily News of Jacksonville reports that (https://bit.ly/1Pgb1He) Jon Douglas Lesan Family Dentistry in Jacksonville is buying back candy Monday and Tuesday that children picked up while trick-or-treating.

Kids can receive a $1 per pound for up to five pounds of candy and also get a ticket to win prizes. Children who visit the office will also be able to write cards and letters to those in the Armed Forces. Lesan is a Navy veteran.

There are a number of similar candy buyback programs around the country.
