Somewhere between latter-day Beatles and Weezer is Young Rival, a Canadian indie band with psychedelic sounds and trippy beats to boot. The strongest cuts on their latest disc, “Interior Light,” are the mind-bending “Throw It in the Water” and “Living Like You Should.”

Young Rival will play the Rock & Roll Hotel on Tuesday with Born Ruffians. Tickets are $14 and can be purchased at RockandRollHotelDC.com.
