How ironic that President Obama boasted on Memorial Day about his getting our ground troops home from the Middle East (“In Memorial Day tribute to fallen troops, Obama cites his role in ending wars,” Web, May 25). When the British went wild with joy as their troops were brought home from imminent disaster at Dunkirk in 1940, British Prime Minister Winston Churchill boomed on BBC radio, “Evacuation is not victory!”

So how symbolic that one of Mr. Obama’s first acts from the Oval Office was to return the bust of Churchill to Britain.
