Hillary Rodham Clinton has set a date in June for the first major rally and will feature an appearance by her husband, former President Bill Clinton, said top campaign advisers.

They also said Mrs. Clinton was prepared to spend $1 billion on the 2016 campaign, according to reports.

The rally, which the campaign has been touting for weeks without disclosing details, will take place June 13 — but the campaign is still keeping the location a secret, top Clinton aides told a group of reporters, including The Associated Press, Thursday in New York.

The former secretary of state announced her run April 12 but has limited her campaign stops to a “listening tour” of small events, including roundtable discussions and tours of schools and businesses.

Mrs. Clinton’s daughter, Chelsea, will also make her first appearance on the campaign trail at the June 13 rally, according to the campaign.

The big speech by Mrs. Clinton will be followed by the release of a series of policy proposals that also will be a first of the campaign, which has mostly avoided taking positions on major issues. Her proposals will deal with domestic issues in keeping with her focus on economic issues facing “everyday Americans,” rather that the foreign policy that has been the focus of many Republican presidential contenders, according to reports.
