Iraq War veteran and double amputee Noah Galloway blew away the judges Monday night on the season 20 premiere of ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars,” after dancing a cha-cha with troupe member Sharna Burgess.
Mr. Galloway, who lost his left arm and left leg in an IED attack in 2005 Iraq, received a standing ovation with Ms. Burgess after dancing an inspiring cha-cha to “I Lived” by One Republic, CNS News reported.
“Thank you for challenging yourself,” gushed judge Carrie-Ann Inaba, “because witnessing that, like my heart is still beating and I’m not quite sure what to make of it.”
“It was profound, and you’re broadening my scope of what dance looks like,” she added.
“Noah, you are a titan amongst men,” said judge Bruno Tonioli. “Your connection, your interplay with your partner is wonderful.”
Judge Len Goodman added, “You don’t inspire just us but the whole of America. Noah, I salute you, well done.”
The dance duo earned a 26/40 for their performance, and Ms. Burgess was praised for her creative choreography.
