Drivers who pass through the gates at Robins Air Force Base in Georgia will no longer hear “have a blessed day,” from the guard on the other side of their window.
After a man who identified himself as an active duty military member contacted the Military Religious Freedom Foundation about the faith-based well-wishing, and the matter was taken up with base officials, The Associated Press reported Thursday.
Mikey Weinstein, the organization’s president, told AP that gate guards have been instructed to say “have a nice day.”
Robins Air Force Base spokesman Roland Leach confirmed to AP that gate guards were ordered not to wish anyone a “blessed” day.
