LYNCHBURG, Va. (AP) - Liberty University says it will close enrollment for the fall semester because all student housing facilities have reached capacity.
Freshmen are required to live on campus.
The university says in a news release that it received a record 33,914 applications for the fall semester.
Liberty opened a new high-rise residence hall, Residential Commons I, in 2014. A second residence hall, Residential Commons II, will open in the fall.
The university plans to construct more residence halls as part of $500 million campus rebuilding.
