A man was fatally shot in the parking garage at the Wheaton Metro Station on Tuesday night, MyFoxDC.com reported.

The shooting occurred on the third level of the parking garage just after 7 p.m. and is being investigated as a homicide.

The victim was transported to a local hospital before being pronounced dead.

Metro trains bypassed the station as police investigated the incident, but normal Red Line service resumed shortly after 8 p.m.
