Fresh off his Dallas Cowboys’ win over the Detroit Lions on Sunday, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is set to go on an unrelated victory lap of sorts, traveling to a number of gubernatorial inaugurations of Republicans he helped guide to victory in the fall.
Mr. Christie, who chaired the Republican Governors Association during a hugely successful 2014 cycle, will head to Florida Gov. Rick Scott’s inauguration on Jan. 6; Mr. Scott won re-election in a hard-fought contest against former Gov. and former Republican Charlie Crist, now a Democrat.
He’s then scheduled to hit up the swearing-in for Massachusetts Gov.-elect Charlie Baker, who scored a major coup for the GOP in the deep-blue state, as well as the ceremony for Ohio Gov. John Kasich, Politico said.
Other planned stops: Illinois for Gov.-elect Bruce Rauner, South Carolina for Gov. Nikki Haley, Iowa for Gov. Terry Branstad and Maryland for Gov.-elect Larry Hogan.
