Former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, the undisputed front-runner for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2016, has reportedly made decisions on most top posts in a campaign likely to launch in early April.
Politico reported that the likelihood of a campaign jumped from “98 percent” to “100 percent” after Christmas, when Mrs. Clinton approved a preliminary budget and several key hires.
Would-be staffers include Robby Mook, a longtime Democratic operative who managed Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe’s 2013 campaign, as manager, with John Podesta, an adviser to President Obama who is leaving the White House next month, as campaign chairman.
Others mentioned as having key roles in the campaign are confidant Cheryl Mills and Huma Abedin, a longtime aide to Mrs. Clinton, with adviser Philippe Reines also playing a key role.
Mrs. Clinton’s camp did not immediately provide a comment on the report.
