Police are looking for a man who fired into a packed Metro bus in the District Monday night and a woman who accompanied him on the bus.

Metro Transit Police released images of both individuals Tuesday.

Approximately 40 people were on the X2 Metrobus, near Union Station, when a man opened fire at 10:20 p.m. Monday.

Two men, ages 21 and 47, were shot in the hand and thigh. Both men were taken to hospitals with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

Metro spokesman Dan Stessel told the Associated Press that the two men were shot after they got into an argument with the shooter. Police said the man exited the bus at a stop in the 100 block of H Street Northwest and turned around to fire at least one round back inside.

Metro police said the shooting was captured on cameras inside the bus.

The woman who accompanied the shooter was seen walking away from the scene after the shooting, police said.
