After the terrorist attacks on Paris, and the thwarted threats in Belgium and here on our own Capitol this past week, you would think, members of the mainstream media and liberal sympathizers would finally wake up. Terrorists are walking into newsrooms and killing members of the media. This should be a wake up call.
But, alas, you just can’t stop stupid.
Let me provide some insight.
I’m not some guy who read a few books, took a class in college on terrorism, now calling himself an expert. I’m not a journalist who has reported on the Middle East from my comfy desk in Washington, D.C.
I have been face-to-face, eyeball-to-eyeball, and guns in my face, (and back), close to Islamic terrorists and their supporters.
I’ve seen long lasting, devastating effects Muslims caused in Darfur and South Sudan. I’ve spoken with leaders of Hamas, Fatah and the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade in Palestinian-controlled territories. I’ve been in war zones in both Iraq and Afghanistan, and seen the way we treat detainees in Guantanamo Bay. I have spoken, in depth, with Muslims in London, Paris and Brussels, where the world is just now discovering the reaches of radical Islam.
What surprised me most this week?
(1) People are surprised that attacks are happening in these cities.
(2) It didn’t happen sooner.
In my travels, I seek out local Islamic leaders, imams, political figures, terror group members and people on the street. They are incredibly open and honest with their comments and usually excited about talking to a member of the media.
My questions were broad, based on the news of the day, the War on Terror, religious differences and how can we end the fighting.
The answers I got were fascinating, terrifying and funny at the same time.
I found the overwhelming narrative to be victimhood, an overreaction to perceived slights, growing anger over conspiracy theories, a lust for power and control, and the use of the Koran as justification for vengeance.
I have spoken with literally thousands of people about Islam over the past 15 years.
What did I learn?
I was told by one student at the London Central Mosque, “You are a Christian or a Jew, and it says in the Koran, that you hate me. Once you convert, and call yourself Mohammad, or something like that, then we can become best of friends. Until then, I know you hate me.”
Mohammad Abu Tir is a member of Hamas, on the Palestinian Legislative Council, representing East Jerusalem. He told me, “You Americans don’t want to know the truth about Islam because Jews run the churches in the United States. Jews pretend to convert to Christianity, become pastors in your churches, and tell you lies about us.”
My favorite is a story told to me by a shop owner in the Muslim Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem, “It was the JEW! Who sent Monica Lewinsky, in to have sex with Bill Clinton, so the Jew could run America.” After I stopped laughing, I realized, he was serious. You would be shocked to see how many people in the Muslim world believe that story.
The problem with Idiot Islamic Defenders Syndrome (or IIDS, for short,) is they feel bad for the underdog and are, as Hillary Clinton said, “Willing to suspend belief,” in order not to hurt anybody feelings. It makes those with IIDS feel superior to those who want to defend our nation and our values. Feeling is the key word, because the IIDS’s blind defense of Islam is based in emotion and not on the logical facts that are so clear to the majority of the world.
When trying to understand the war on terror (words banned by the Obama administration) we have to get our Western values and ideals out of the mix. They don’t work when trying to understand what we are dealing with.
In America and other Western nations, religion has unfortunately become an afterthought. You can believe or not believe, you can be a Christian, a Muslim, Buddhist, a Ganja-ist — anything you want. Go to church, don’t go to church, that’s between you and your beliefs.
In many other countries around the world, you don’t have that luxury. You don’t get choose your religion; you are born in to it. That’s it! Period! It is who you are and whom you belong to. You don’t just choose to change religions. It’s a betrayal of your family, your heritage, the bedrock of your being. Changing religious is a serious crime. In Islam, to convert to another religion is worthy of the death penalty.
In America, Islam is watered down by Middle Eastern standards. Muslims are weak by giving into materialism, the lack of control over women and not obeying Mohammad by the letter of the law. Muslims we would consider “radical”, are, (according to them,) those who are the most adherent to the Prophets orders.
Many American Muslims are considered “apostates,” one who has abandoned the principals of Islam, by Muslims around the world and should also be condemned to death.
Instead of apologizing to Muslims who don’t believe in such garbage, the media must promote those who will condemn the radicals. Allow them a voice and a platform to speak out against their fellow Muslims acts of aggression. You cannot say it has nothing to do with Islam because it does.
Nobody is saying that folks who just want to follow Mohammad and be nice neighbors are bad people. But we must listen to what radical Islamic leaders are saying and take them at their word. President Obama won’t say there’s a war on terror but their needs to be a War in Islam. Not with bullets and bombs, but words that sway and change the way radicalized Muslims see themselves and their behavior toward the rest of the world.
Those Muslims who believe in peace must join us in holding radical Muslims accountable. Nations such as Saudi Arabia must allow others, with differing beliefs to be allowed in to their nation, and have protection to speak their views. Let girls and women learn, choose who they want to marry and be able to drive a car, as a starting point.
If the kings and princes of the Middle East wish to keep us as oil customers and help us stop terror from spreading around the world, they must immediately stop their support and funding of madrasas (Islamic schools) that teach hate and intolerance.
This message must be shouted from the highest mountain, from atop the tallest mosque, from every media outlet on Earth and out of the mouth of the president of the United States.
So, for your lack of understanding the problem and for your cowardice against even saying the word Islamic Terror, you, Idiotic Islamist Defenders, are the Liberal Bully of the Week.
