Paris authorities have arrested eight men suspected of recruiting members of the Islamic State group.
Interior Minister Barnard Cazeneuve said that the individuals, who were apprehended Tuesday, were wanted in connection with terrorist group’s recruiting efforts.
“The battle against terrorism is also a race against time,”Mr. Cazeneuve said, BBC reported. “Our determination is total.”
France’s legal system allows for suspects to be held for up to 96 hours without charges, BBC reported.
Mr. Cazeneuve added that law enforcement was working on 161 terror-related legal cases and that 547 individuals are suspected of involvement in terror networks, the news outlet reported.
