Thank you for publishing the article “Colorado liberals make peace with fracking, reject emergency moratorium” (Web, Jan. 28). The article was well done and very informative.
More and more scientific evidence demonstrating that hydraulic fracturing can be done in a safe and environmentally friendly way is a big reason why moderates and even many Democrats now support hydraulic fracturing. Among these supporters is Democrat and Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper, who holds a master’s degree in geology.
As time goes on and fracking loses its newness, people of all political stripes will see it for what it is: an essential process providing Americans with affordable, domestic energy.
