OPINION:
Back in 1995 I wrote a thesis titled “The CFC Ban: Is it Warranted?” refuting the notion that “global warming” was caused by man-made pollution. The global warming theory was based on the belief that chlorinated fluorocarbons (CFCs) would rise up into the atmosphere and reduce the level of ozone in the ozone layer, causing holes in the ozone. Well, I wasn’t the only one who debunked that theory, because CFCs are three to four times heavier than air and may never make it to the ozone layer. You no longer hear scientists mention these theories.
Now these same scientists want people to believe that man-made pollution causes global climate change, but there is absolutely no science behind that theory, no matter how often President Obama repeats it. Mr. Obama has stated that the greatest threat to our nation is climate change, but he never says that man-made pollution is the cause. However, his administration implements policies as though public policy can reverse global climate change. This is preposterous, without either merit or scientific basis.
Natural phenomena such as sunspots, volcanic activity and natural weather patterns have far more of an impact on climate change than man-made pollution ever will. In fact, the “year without a summer” occurred back in 1816, and was caused by a historic low in solar activity and the eruption of Mount Tambora.
We have to put a stop to the Obama administration’s increasing regulations, which are designed to cripple Virginia’s coal industry based on a flawed theory not backed up by any science at all.
