A World War II veteran who received his high school diploma at age 93 says his life is now “complete.”
Domenic Giarrusso left Rhode Island before graduation to enlist in the U.S. Army. The former airplane mechanic eventually earned a GED, but never had a graduation ceremony until Thursday.
Mr. Giarrusso’s daughter and grandson watched as a ceremony was held at Cranston High School West, The Associated Press reported. He was given his degree by Providence School Superintendent Susan Lusi.
The war veteran said after the ceremony that he had come “full circle in life. Life is complete,” AP reported.
