I’m not interested in what the president says the government is doing to protect me from radical Islamic terrorists. Did it work in San Bernardino? No. Fourteen people died at the hands of Islamic State conspirators in the single deadliest terrorist attack on American soil since Sept. 11, 2001. Will you add that to your treasured legacy, Mr. President? I don’t need Attorney General Loretta Lynch telling me how to act, speak or think. I’m 54 years old; I can figure it out. But thanks for your liberal opinion.

As she hides behind a gauntlet of heavily armed Secret Service agents, Hillary Rodham Clinton says we need more gun laws. The day Hillary gives up her armed protective detail is the day I will give up my right to protect myself. If she were ever asked, I’m 100-percent certain that her response would be something along the lines of, ’Congress passed the law giving me protection, so I can’t do anything about it.’ Yes, she can. There is absolutely nothing in this law saying she must use or accept taxpayer-funded, armed protection — unless, of course, she believes she is more important than the rest of us.

The one thing that President Obama, the attorney general and Mrs. Clinton have in common is 24-hour Secret Service protection. This entails dozens of heavily armed men and women who not only protect these individuals and their families, but also secure their homes and any places they may wish to visit. A few years ago Mr. Obama boasted about his daughters being protected on a date by a lot of men with big guns. His daughters are also protected to, from, and at their private school by the Secret Service. Are his children more important than my four nieces? Are they more precious?

I don’t have the luxury of a Secret Service detail, and I don’t want or need it. I have my Second Amendment right, and by God I intend to use it if needed to protect myself, my family or my friends.
