D.C. police have arrested a second suspect in the killing of a Northeast man in August near the Shaw Metro station.
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s homicide branch said Andre Dudley, 19, was arrested Thursday and charged with second-degree murder in the killing of 24-year-old Matthew Shlonsky.
The homicide occurred in the 1700 block of 7th Street, Northwest on Aug. 15, at around 4:50 pm. Officers from the Third District responded to reports of a shooting and, upon arrival, found Mr. Shlonsky, an American University graduate, suffering from a gunshot wound.
District Fire and Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to an area hospital, but he was unable to be revived.
Mr. Dudley is the second person to be arrested in connection with the homicide. On Aug. 21, Marcus King, 19, turned himself in to the homicide branch in Southwest just a day after police named him as a suspect.
